The General Secretary of the NPP, Kojo Owusu Afriyie, also known as Sir John has lauded Nana Akufo-Addo's 'All die be die' statement saying he does not see anything wrong with it.The statement made by flag bearer of the opposition NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to his party members has sparked much controversy in political circles especially from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).He said “in 2012 we need to be courageous because all die be die.”Kojo Owusu Afriye has stood firmly behind the NPP flag-bearer.He re-echoed his stand saying, "that they (NDC) should not think that because we are a peace-loving party we will stand idle and weak in the face of opposition. Rather we will stand against them and fight them."However, Communications Director for the NPP, Nana Akomea earlier explained that their flag bearer’s comments had been misunderstood. He has described the NDC as hippocrates, cheats and violent, taking advantage of Nana Addo’s speech to score cheap political points. He said, "all that Nana Addo was doing was encouraging his party followers to duplicate the fighting spirit of the founding fathers of their party rather than chicken out in fear of hostility, What is the point to run knowing very well that it will not save you in the face of attack ?” he retorted. In a related development, a group calling itself the Progressive Public Servants Association has also registered their displeasure against Nana Addo’s comments. The acting president of the group, Mr. Japheth Baidoo is also unhappy with Nana Addo’s communication personnel for supporting him instead of apologizing on his behalf.Story: Maame Esi Nyamekye Thompson/Adom News
