Head of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has said President J.E.A. Mills never in his campaign in the 2008 elections said the unfortunate electoral violence that attended Kenya's elections would be replicated in Ghana if he was not declared winner.According to Koku, President Mills, then as the candidate of the National Democratic Congress which was in the opposition, only called on the Electoral Commission to ensure a level playing field for all parties when they had reports of a bloated register in some constituencies in a particular region.Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, programme, Koku Anyidoho noted that Mills only advocated for a free and fair elections in order to prevent Ghana from becoming another Kenya. He added that even though the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) alleges that President Mills threatened to visit mayhem on the country, they have not been able to provide any evidence to that effect.Koku Anyidoho however took a swipe at the Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, for allegedly saying Ghana will be more like Rwanda should the NDC attempt to rig the 2012 elections. He recounted the traumatic experiences Ghanaian soldiers, people in Rwanda and the whole world went through during that war and explained that he would never wish for that to happen in Ghana. He therefore found it very surprising that an honourable Member of Parliament could make such a statement.Kennedy Agyapong on February 10, 2011 was reported to have warned that should the NDC attempt to rig the 2012 elections, "the country will be more like Rwanda.”Story by: Adwoa Gyasiwaa/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
