Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Tuesday inaugurated the Dankwa Ladies Club in Tamale as part of the women’s wing of the party in the region.
The executives of the Dankwa Ladies Club in the Northern Region include Madam Adisah Hashimimu as the President, Afisha Abdul-Wahap, the Secretary and Damajumah Ayuba Sadique, Special Advisor.
Nana Akufo-Addo urged the women’s group of the party to collaborate effectively with their male counterparts to win more votes for the party and ensure that the party becomes victorious in the 2012 elections.
Accompanying Nana Addo on his tour were Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Kwadwo Afriyie, General Secretary, Madam Otiku Afisa Djaba, National Women Organiser, Mr Boakye Agyarko, National Campaign Manager and many other party executives.
Speaking to the aspirants contesting for the primaries of the party, he told them to be well prepared for the parliamentary contest before filing adding that “Do not contest if you are not sure of winning”.
Madam Otiku Afisa Djaba, National Women Organiser of the NPP, urged the Dankwa Ladies Club to complement the efforts of the men and march the NDC boot for boot to the win the 2012 general elections.
She said they must all aspire to the new slogan of the party of “All Die Be Die” and called on all women to collectively assist the fight of the party to win the coming election.
