Ghana's lead actress, Nadia Buari has attended the opening night Gala for the 19th Annual Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) held at the Culver Plaza Theatre in Los Angeles California Friday, February 18.
The Award winning actress famous for her role in several African blockbuster movies including Beyonce, The Presidents Daughter and Checkmate adorned the PAFF Red carpet in a Black Oscar De La Renta gown.
In an interview with the L.A. Times newspaper, she expressed delight that although she did not have any of her movies showing, she was glad to represent Ghana at the Event.
The A-list actress was accompanied by her mum and manager, Khadija Buari.
Hosted by Nate Parker, the opening gala featured the L.A movie premiere of the upcoming comedy film 35 and Ticking.
The film directed by Russ Parr, features a large African American ensemble cast starring Pascal Atuma, Megan Good, Nicole Ari Parker, Mike Epps and Tamala Jones and others.
Established in 1992, the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of cultural and racial tolerance and understanding through the exhibition of film, art and creative expression.
Each year, PAFF presents over 100 quality films from the United States, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the South Pacific and Canada, all showcasing the diversity and complexity of people of African descent.
