The owner of T-Club Hotel near the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra, Samuel Tetteh Quarshie is in the grips of the Police for turning his hotel into a brothel.
Twelve other ladies said to be prostitutes and 3 men believed to be customers of the prostitutes have also been arrested and are assisting the Police in their investigations.
Briefing the GNA in Accra, the La District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police, Yao Tettegah said they were rounded up upon a tip-off at 18:45 hours on February 23, when the prostitutes were preparing for their night duties at Jokers, La and Aphrodesiac, a night club around Dzorwulu where they had been patronizing.
According to the District Commander, items retrieved from the prostitutes include large quantities of condoms and artificial penis used by the ladies ostensibly to engage in lesbianism.
Superintendent Tettegah said they would soon be arraigned before court.
Later in an interview, Mr. Quarshie, a Clearing and forwarding Agent at the Tema Port, told the GNA that he converted part of his hotel into a brothel two years ago.
According to him, he was compelled by tough economic circumstances to enter into the business of engaging commercial sex workers.
