Four National Democratic Congress supporters were critically injured when two motor cycles collided head-on at Sabronum in the Ahafo Ano South District.
The victims who wore party colours were among excited supporters trooping to welcome President Mahama on his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.
The President’s medical team attended to them before they were referred to Mankranso Government Hospital and later to Komfo Anokye Hospital.
Two of them, Agyenim Boateng, also known as Chief and his colleague identified only as D.O, both natives of Sabronom.
Their bike collided with another bike which was ahead of President Mahama’s convoy from Pokukrom-Sabronum.
According to Agyenim Boateng’s sister, Gifty Afriyie, his brother sustained multiple fractures in the left arm and apart from bruises all over his body.
D.O on the other hand is said to have lost four of his teeth with the flesh on his face peeled off in the accident.
Francis and his friend who were on the other motorbike bled profusely from a deep head cut injuries he sustained.
The two motorbikes involved in the accident were still at the scene at about 10 p.m. Monday night, about two hours after the accident.
