Police have arrested a ten-year-old boy in the Lawra district of the Upper West region for allegedly setting a market on fire.
The boy allegedly set his mother’s shop on fire and the fire later spread to other shops in the market in the Lawra district.
Witnesses tell Joy News that the ten-year-old boy took the action to punish his mother for scolding him.
The fire caused a stampede at the market which led to two school children being trampled on. They are currently receiving treatment at the Lawra Hospital.
