Thirty more stranded Ghanaians arrived home this dawn through Tunisia. Members of the evacuation task force had to use Tunisia after distress calls from some Ghanaians in Libya who found themselves along the Tunisian border. Deputy Information Minister Okudzeto Ablakwa told Joy News those returnees were close to that country and was safe to use that exit instead of Egypt. He said Ghana’s mission in Algeria was called in to process their documents because Ghana does not have a mission in Tunisia. Mr Ablakwa said the Ghanaians arrived at 3:30 am Sunday on board a commercial flight. The total number of airlifted Ghanaians according to the minister stands at 716. There have been mass demonstrations against Libyan president Muammar Al-Gaddafi with Libyans calling for him to step down after 42 years in office. Source: Joy News
