The Local Government Minister has directed all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to produce a blue-print on the economic potentials in their localities.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says his ministry is shifting focus from infrastructure development to developing local economies.
He told Joy News he is determined to ensure that income generating activities and other economically viable ventures in the districts are identified and utilized to achieve socio-economic growth.
“We are going to focus district by district… on the local economic potential and see how best those potential could be harnessed to improve the lot of the people,” stated.
Mr Ampofo said the various assemblies will be expected to market the economic potentials in the localities to attract private investment in the various sectors.
