Minister for Education, Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, will meet Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Dufuor and the Controller and Accountant General, Mr. Raphael Tuffuor on Tuesday in an urgent effort to address the anomalies arising from the migration of teachers unto the Single Spine Salary Structure.
This is in furtherance to President John Atta Mills’ assurance in his 54th Independence Day address that the anomalies will be rectified “very soon.”
The meeting, according to the Ministry of Information, “will fashion out a solution to the technical errors that occurred in the payment of the February salary and allowance of teachers.”
The statement indicated that Mrs. Mould Iddrisu is also expected to hold separate emergency meetings with the leadership of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
The statement urged all teachers to remain calm as government works tirelessly to resolve the concerns.
