The Greater Accra Police Commander Rose Bio-Attinga has led her team to arrest twenty eight suspected armed robbers.The robbers have been linked with 30 robberies in the metropolis, some of which have resulted in the deaths of pastors, and police men in the last six months.The Police made this revelation at a news conference on Wednesday.Joy News’ Nana Yaa Fynn-Thompson who was present at the conference reports the robbers are between the ages of 25- 39 years; they include two women, ex-convicts and robbers on the police wanted list.One of the robbers is said to be Kwesi alias Kweikwei who is alleged to have killed two police men, including the famous police, tae-kwan-do expert, Kweku Ninja who was murdered under mysterious circumstances in 1998 at Ablekuma.The robbers have also allegedly confessed to recent attacks on the residence of Black Stars player Laryea Kingston.They operated from their base in Teshie Nungua where they constituted themselves into groups and attacked houses in the community.Police say the robbers masterminded thirty robberies in Sowutuom, Adjirigaano, Oyibi, East Legon, Valley View University and Madina.Rose Bio-Attinga appealed to the general public to provide information to the police to facilitate the arrest of the armed robbers.There will be no identification parade for them; they are due for court on Thursday.
