President John Evans Atta Mills on Saturday morning broke the ground for the construction of a new medical school block at the University of Ghana.
The project when completed will facilitate the relocation of the Ghana Medical School from Korle Bu to the Legon campus.
The building complex is being sited at the premises of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
The facility includes a teaching hospital, facilities for existing schools on the Korle Bu campus and a new School of Biomedical Sciences.
