The police have arrested a man alleged to have butchered six people at the Kasoa old market.
The incident which happened last night is said to have thrown the entire community into a state of shock.
The timely intervention of the police saved the suspect from being lynched by an angry mob.
A journalist who witnessed the incident told Joy News the six were in a very critical condition.
The motive for the attack is not known.
