Presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has charged the chief and people of Bunkpurugu to reject the two main parties for non-performance.
He said both the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) have had the chance to control the nation but have failed to develop the three Northern Region including Bunkpurugu.
The visit to the Bunkpurugu traditional area forms part of his Green campaign tour across the country to garner votes to win the race to the Flagstaff House.
The chief, Naa Alhaji Abuba Nasingmong, Paramount Chief of Bunkpurugu Traditional area complained to the flagbearer the three major problems facing the area.
He pointed out that their road networks are poor; they lack health facilities and educational infrastructures are inadequate.
Mr Greenstreet asked for peace in the area and called on the chief to bless the CPP to win come December stressing the CPP has more plans for the area and Ghana as a whole.
He said he found it strange that with a return to democracy 24 years ago and the resources Ghana is endowed with, both the NPP and NDC could not develop the area and other areas in the Northern Region.
“After the NPP and NDC had the chance to govern, they keep coming here asking for your votes without developing your area, that is something I don’t understand.
“You know what the CPP and Kwame Nkrumah did for the three Northern Regions. It has been failure after failure by the two parties yet you keep giving them your vote,” he noted.
Mr Greenstreet said he is surprised by the lack of interest the two parties have exhibited by not opening the area for development.
“This is a place where you have so many opportunities in agricultural produce which is not being taken advantage off to put monies in the pockets of the people,” he said.
He pleaded with the Chief to hear the pleas of the CPP and give them the chance to bring development and opportunity one more time to the area.
