The District Chief Executive(DCE) for Awutu Senya West constituency in the central region has urged electorate of the area not to vote for the NPP's candidate because he is 'close-fisted'.
Sampson Abbey Armah said he has observed that George Andah hardly donates money whenever he is invited to programmes in the constituency.
"I think you should stop inviting him to events because he will waste your time, he will not support you financially." Mr. Abbey Armah said in Fante while addressing party supporters at Awutu Adawukwa.
Mr. Abbey Armah said that, for this reason, the electorate should vote massively to retain Hannah-Tetteh and President John Dramani Mahama.
Our mother Hannah Tetteh understands politics very well and knows that when she is invited to a programme, she has to support with money. She knows the canopies and chairs are rented and need to be paid for so she helps you do that so let us show appreciation to her by voting for her, he added.
Mr. Abbey Armah promised the electorate in the area that a bus will be provided for them to travel to Accra for the swearing in of President John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2017, if he is retained.
Meanwhile, the constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party believes the NDC's candidate is not being generous but engaging in vote-buying.
Stephen Quaye in an interview with Adom News' Seth Kofi Adjei condemned the comments by the DCE and urged the voters to vote for George Andah as he is more focused on development and not vote-buying.
He urged the voters in the constituency to vote against NDC on the basis of the current economic condition in the country.
"Will the donations create employment for the youth? Will it fix the collapsed NHIS? Will it be enough for payment of school fees?", the Chairman quizzed in Twi.
