Police in the Upper West region are investigating reports that some of its officers aided the escape of three suspects from police cell.
The three suspects who broke jail on Wednesday were among five others locked up in the Wa police cell over minor offences.
There are reports the suspects broke jail using pliers and screw drivers which were put in their foods and smuggled into the cell.
Speaking to Joy News, the Public Relations Officer for the Upper West Regional Police Command, Inspector Adu Amankwah denied the reports insisting it would be impossible for the prisoners to have access to these tools.
Insp. Amankwah however said the police service will carry out an investigation into the matter and promised that any officer found culpable will face the law.
