A thousand homes and properties were destroyed by a heavy rainstorm in Akatsi on Tuesday. The victims are currently living in homes of friends and families waiting for help from NADMO and the district assembly. Some other victims are also struggling for a place to lay their head. Roofs of schools and houses were ripped off. Some of the victims have been speaking to Joy News. They said coconut trees were uprooted and dumped on houses by the raging storm. Akatsi NADMO Coordinator Sammy Wuadi told Joy News they would hold an emergency meeting on how to help the victims. For now there are no relief items for the victims, he explained.
