The Western Regional Desk Officer of the National Association of Local Government Authorities (NALAG), Mr Jossy Johnson, has said that many Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) were becoming partisan. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Sekondi, he stated some political parties are taking advantage of this development. Mr Johnson warned the situation could retard the development process of some areas because MMDAs were based on a non-partisan concept. He called on the staff of MMDAs to support their assemblies to implement decisions, programmes and projects. He emphasised the assemblies cannot function as expected without the involvement of their staff who are members of NALAG. Source: GNA
