The Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature has blamed what he calls the “political naivety on the part of Chief of Staff at the Presidency and the National Security Office, as well as incessant complaints by former President Rawlings”, for the violent behaviour of some NDC youth.
Alhaji Bature claimed the Chief of Staff, John Henry Martey Newman is not a politician and moreover, the foot soldiers of the ruling NDC do not know him as a member of the party.
“The National Security unfortunately are not up to date with the current issues in the country. When the Ya-Na’s ruling was pronounced the national security were unaware because they could have advised the President not to continue his tour in the Northern Region”, Alhaji Bature told Kofi Adomah who hosted Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Thursday.
He stressed that if the recent brouhaha within the NDC coupled with numerous complaints from the NDC does not cease, the party could lose the 2012 elections.
“If the NDC does not win power in 2012 then I’m sorry they will never come close to winning an election if they don’t put their house in a better shape.
"ith this break in communication in the party, the party cannot travel pass the 2012 elections,” he stated.
Alhaji Bature said “Mr. Newman may be an intelligent man but unfortunately he is not a technocrat, he is unaware of his duties and responsibilities”.
He is of the opinion that recent developments in the party have the potential to turn away floating voters as some people might think that the party is a violent party.
