A ten-year old girl who was kidnapped eight months ago from Agbogbloshie, Accra, has been found alive.
She was rescued from her kidnapper- Daniel Sosu, a driver's mate - after a tip-off.
He had kept her in his mother’s room in Mataheko where several concoctions had been prepared for her.
The girl (name withheld) was said to have suffered temporal amnesia and could not make out her parents on the day she was rescued.
She however appears to have regained her memory and narrated to Joy News’ Nana Yaa Fynn-Thompson the circumstances under which she was captured and the gory predicaments she had to endure in the hands of her kidnapper, and his mother accomplice.
According to the girl, Sosu asked her to buy sachet water for him but kidnapped her on her return.
She was sent to an unknown destination and kept in a room for several days where several concoctions were made for her.
According to her, the mother of the kidnapper put beads around her waist which made it difficult for her to sit or walk.
She claimed her kidnapper attempted on some occasions to insert his fingers into her private parts and starved her many times.
She was rescued after a tip-off to the police.
Her mother Lardi Fuseini told Fynn-Thompson she went through emotional torture during the eight months her daughter was away.
When news about her daughter's discovery came she was anxious and together with the girl’s father went to the hide-out to ascertain the veracity of the rumour.
Her husband broke down in tears, she narrated.
Meanwhile, the 32-year old kidnapper is in police custody and will soon be arraigned before court.
