Volta Region Chiefs will meet President John Evans Atta Mills at the Castle on Thursday.The delegation, to be led by the president of the Region’s house of chiefs, Agbogbomefia Togbui Afede and new Awomefia of Anlo, Togbui Sri III will meet the president behind closed doors.Details of what they will discuss are sketchy. But reliable sources told Joy News the meeting is in connection with what is becoming an acrimonious flagbearership contest between President Mills and Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.Joy News has also learnt that the chiefs have made similar attempts to meet with Former President Rawlings over his wife’s decision to contest President Mills.Our deep throat sources say the chiefs are not in support of Nana Konadu’s intended presidential bid and wanted the opportunity to speak to Mr. Rawlings about it.Source: Joy News/Ghana
