Accra, Wednesday January 11, 2017 – The Young Diplomats of Ghana (YDG) congratulates Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Member of Parliament for the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency on her appointment as Minister Designate for Foreign Affairs.
YDG is of the firm conviction that Hon. Ayorkor Botchway is the best candidate to steer the affairs of the Ministry.
With her all round experience as a Communication Consultant and Public Relations Practitioner, coupled with her law making experience, her work as the Ranking Member and Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs from 2009 -2013 as well as her service to the nation as a former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs places her in an unparalleled position for the job.
We believe that Hon. Ayorkor Botchway would work to consolidate and strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic relations and foreign policy to promote and protect the interest of Ghana, establish a just and equitable international, economic, political and social order and also promote respect for international law and treaty obligations, among others as envisaged by Article 40 of the 1992 Constitution.
We hope the Minister Designate would continue with the good work of the immediate past minister; Hon. Hannah Tetteh to maximize the potentials of our diplomatic relations and her office to the benefit of the country.
