A relatively young entrant into the movie industry, Efe Tamunor Stene, a producer, has revealed that she is looking at cementing her name in the African movie industry for now, rather than aiming at the monitory benefits.
The talented producer who doubles as an actress is currently out with her second production, Behind the Heart, after the release of her first work, Summary, two years ago.
Efe speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com Monday after a press previewing of her latest work, said whiles many will quickly look for profits, she is looking at making a statement in the industry.
“I am not looking at profit for now. Right now it’s not about profit but I believe we will get there as time goes on,” she revealed.
Although it’s been barely two years after her first production, she has been enjoying an appreciable goodwill from a number of industry players, but was quick to note that she is not in position to compare her works to others as, “it’s just my second movie so I can not compete with those who have done like 10 to 20 movies”.
Behind the Heart tells the story of a good looking guy, Maxwell, who has to make a living as a house boy in the house of a rich woman who has two daughters.
Humble Maxwell served his boss’s daughters deservedly; the youngest of the daughters tries everything to make life unbearable for Maxwell until her attention was drawn to Maxwell’s good looks by a friend.
The eldest of the daughters, played by Efe Stene, had fallen in love with Maxwell’s unperturbed attitude to serve them.
Maxwell gets entangled in the love web of two sisters and their friend, what is the way forward for Maxwell – Who wins Maxwell’s love? An answer, the movie holds.
Behind the Heart is directed by Mac Collins Chidiebe and Willie Ajenge, and it stars John Dumelo, David Osei, Uche Elendu, Vivienne Achor, Efe Stene and Veeda Darko. It premieres at the Silverbird Cinema May 27.
