Former President John Dramani Mahama has fulfilled his promise of giving Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe a brand new car should he defeat South African Fana Nzonke.
Mahama assured Tagoe that he would present him a car if he defeated the South African in a world title bout last year.
And the boxer from the Baby Jet Promotions defeated the South African at the Bukom Boxing Arena with Nzonke requiring medical treatment immediately after the bout.
In line with this, the former President has given Game Boy and his trainer one brand new Hyundai Accent each for making Ghana proud.
And Game Boy was full of praise for the former President.
“I thank President Mahama for this wonderful gesture. In fact it came at a time I wasn’t really expecting it. I was home when I got a call from my coach that we have been invited by ex-president Mahama and when we got there, he redeemed his promise to me by giving me and my coach a brand new Hyundai accent saloon car each.” We are extremely grateful to him for this gift and I hope it spurs me on to greater heights," he told Happy FM.
