The Ghana Federation of the Disabled is demanding strict compliance with the Disability Act.
It says people with disabilities have been ignored for far too long and the time has come for change, starting with the enforcement of the Act.
The Federation is marking the National Day of the disabled on Thursday, June 23, 201l to highlight the failures of the relevant stakeholders to comply with the disability law.
Joy News’ Fiifi Koomson who was present at the ceremony reported the People with Disabilities say the challenges they went through before the disability law was passed still persist.
They claim they are still being discriminated against; they still have to haggle with able bodied men over transport.
They have called on the stakeholders to comply with the new law.
