The Customs Division in the Northern Region have mounted a manhunt for the owner of a cache of ammunition intercepted at Nakpanduri last week.
The suspect bolted as customs officials searched the vehicle being used to transport the ammunition.
Kwaku Asamoah-Twum Northern Regional sector commander of Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) told Joy News “our searches indicated that there were a total of 1000 pieces of short gun ammunition in the [two] boxes.”
He said the ammunition are currently in their custody pending further direction from CEPS headquarters.
