The MUSGIA president made this revelation in his first media briefing at the MUSIGA Head office Wednesday, since assuming the top job as president, to outline his programmes and projects. In his address, the president, also known as Obour said, “We within our year of office, will provide every single member of MUSIGA with free healthcare. Works are far advance, we are working towards it and it should soon happen.” He said it was his belief that MUSIGA’s growth hinges on the good health of its members. His administration, he said, will also ensure that, “every single member of MUSIGA gets free legal advice and in some instances legal representation on music related issues. Flanked some MUSIGA executives and directors which included Rex Omar, Obrafour, Nana Tuffour, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, Ben Brako, Bessa Simons, Tic Tac, Rocky Dawuni, Ayigbe Edem and A B Crentsil, Obour unveiled plans to set up a MUSIGA band across the ten regions of Ghana and also to ensure that MUSIGA partners major event organisers and events in the country. In a drive to increase the current membership of MUSIGA which stands at 3,700, of which 800 are active members, the new administration revealed that they will embark on a massive re-registration exercise starting October 12 at the National Theatre, through to December 31 2011.
