Two men suspected to be robbers who allegedly dared the police in a hot exchange have died from gunshot wounds at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The two, in the company of a third accomplice who is on the run, attacked a residence near the Kasoa New Market area at about 8:30.p.m on Monday.
Luck however eluded them when officers from the Accra Regional Police Command popped up, upon a tip-off.
According to the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DCOP Prosper Agblor, instead of abandoning their evil intentions, the suspects, who were keen on executing their operations, opened fire when they saw the police.
The police returned the fire, gunning down two.
The unidentified robbers died while being conveyed to the hospital.
Their bodies have since been deposited at the Police Hospital’s morgue awaiting autopsy.
The CID boss expressed much gratitude to the persons who had called the police in time since their act helped in saving lives and properties.
