Authorities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have dismissed a report in the Daily Graphic Newspaper suggesting certain programmes are being run in contravention to laws on accreditation. The story published in Thursday’s edition of the paper says the Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Business Administration programmes were being run without authorisation from the National Accreditation Board. The university authorities have however explained that the university had been running a Law program prior to the start of the full scale LLB programme in 2004. They said the suggestion that something untoward or unlawful had been done in the process was unfortunate. The University maintained that it had the mandate and capacity to run the programmes. The authorities who are currently meeting over the matter have asked students pursuing the two programmes to disregard the newspaper report.
