The new Winneba District Police commander, ASP Jordan Quaye has asked police in the district not to delay investigation in cases because people regard delay in cases as denied in justice.
Mr. Quaye said this at his maiden meeting of police personnel from all units made up of the Criminal Investigations Department, (CID), Motor Traffic and Transport Union (MTTU) Task Force and the general police in the Winneba Station at Winneba.
He said as peace officers they are expected to lead exemplary lives and exhibit good behaviour that would let the public have confidence in them.
ASP Quaye urged them not to let limited resources at their disposal and lack of incentives discourage them from giving of their best.
He hoped that the personnel would continue to work harder in the performance of their duties for the district to continue to be the best in the Central Region.
The new Police Commander called on the public to cooperate with the police because they would not be
able to operate effectively without their cooperation.
Meanwhile the Police Commander toured some organizations and institutions in Winneba to introduce himself to the officials.
Mr. Quaye who was accompanied by Chief Inspector Williams Jabialu, Sergeant Kwame Nyanteh and Corporal Ernest Agbobeda, all from the District Police Headquarters visited the Police Training School, University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly.
He also addressed Police Personnel at Senya Beraku, Gomoa Fetteh and Dominase Police Stations, where the station Officers complained to him of shortage of personnel.
He assured them that efforts would be made to address the situation.
