The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Adjei Boateng, has called on men to show more interest in the education of their children by paying regular visits to schools to check on the academic and moral performances of their wards. He observed that, often women played that role while some men who cared, had taken the role of only paying fees and providing some financial requirements for their wards’ education. The Municipal Chief Executive said this during the graduation of 102 students of the Koforidua Riss Presbyterian Model JSS at Koforidua at the weekend. He appealed to all stakeholders to contribute their quota towards the New Educational Reforms, which takes off in September, this year and said it was the determination of the governments to promote an efficient human resource base capable of meeting the demands of the time. Nana Adjei Boateng congratulated the head-teacher, staff and all stakeholders, including the Presbyterian Church for supporting the school to produce students whose performances are always among the best in the municipality and the country at large. He expressed the hope that such sterling standards would be replicated in other Presbyterian Schools. The Eastern Regional Director of Education, Madam Akosua Adu, said the Educational Reform would build a sound foundation for children who hold the future of the country and called on citizens to support the new system to succeed. The New Juaben Municipal Director of Education, Madam Felicia Duku, said the capitation grant and the school-feeding programme had helped to get many children to school.
