The chief of Joma is asking the Ga South Assembly and the Ghana Water Company to stop the ongoing demolishing exercise in the area. Over fifty houses have already been pulled down and the chief, Nii Ayitey Noyaatse the first says he’s worried at the number of people who have been rendered homeless. He told Joy News, the taskforce has no reason pulling down especially houses that are not close to the Densu River. “We are hoping they would meet our demands because we know where the demarcation. “The houses they demolished yesterday is very unfair because it is not part of the re-demarcated catchment area. So we are calling on the government because if you have such an exercise you need to draw the people’s attention. But it was not done that way,” he explained. He called on the task force to halt the demolition exercise until adequate notice is given residents.
