Primate Seth K. Adofo, Spiritual Head of the Brotherhood Church, on Christmas day asked his colleague religious leaders to be more disciplined and “become good examples for the rest of the population”. He said as representatives of God, the expectation was that they should stay away from sinful and bad conduct likely to create image problems and bring the Church into disrepute. “We have to lead decent and truthful lives as we seek to correct the ills in the society.” Preaching at a service to celebrate the birth of Christ at the Suntreso Temple, Primate Adofo said there was the need for all in the service of God to be prayerful and to allow God to guide them in their deeds. “We should let what the Scriptures say reflect in our work and in life”, he said He expressed concern about the growing influence of foreign culture on the country’s youth as evidenced in indecent and provocative dressing and pornography and appealed to parents to help protect their children. He asked the congregation not to overspend during the yuletide so that they would have enough to cater for the family and pay school fees. Preaching at the Gospel Revival Church at Sofoline in Kumasi, Bishop John N. K. Boateng, the General Overseer, urged Ghanaians to let the fear of God and humility to permeate their lives. He noted that if one was God-fearing, he or she would never be tempted into evil deeds of bribery, stealing, mischief, rumor-mongering, lies and blackmailing. He blamed the challenges facing the country on those criminal and immoral practices, by the people. He said it was time all Ghanaians accepted to be patriotic, hard working and selfless to help bring real progress to the nation.
