Ghana has received a major injury boost ahead of next month’s Nations Cup with the news that midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has returned to training.
The 21-year-old picked a knock early this month during a Uefa Europa League fixture against Celtic at the Stadio Friuli.
Badu was ruled out of action for three weeks but has now begun light training at Udinese’s training grounds.
“I have started light training and by God’s grace things are going well. In five or six days, I will return to full scale training,” he told Ghanasoccernet.com.
The former Berekum Arsenal midfielder also confirmed he will arrive in Ghana on Saturday for Ghana’s pre-Nations Cup camping in Rustenburg which begins on 7 January.
“When I arrive on Saturday, I will join the Black Stars team to South Africa,” he added.
Badu is expected to play a key role in Ghana’s campaign in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
