A drug peddler who was arrested by the Neighbourhood Watchdog Committee at Nima and handed over to the police was on Wednesday remanded in police custody by an Accra Regional Tribunal.
The tribunal, chaired by Mr Justice Frank Manu did not take the plea of Mohammed Nuhu, a driver, who was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
He will reappear on September 12.
Police Chief Inspector Marjorie Otebil (Eds correct) told the court that on August 14, members of the committee went on patrol duties to help curb the high incidence of crime in the Nima community.
The prosecutor said in the course of their patrol, they spotted Nuhu at a spot briskly offering some drugs for sale.
He was arrested and when a search was conducted on him 12 wrappers of whitish substance suspected to be cocaine were found on him.
