A 27-year-old man has died from a blow by his friend. Isaac Bonsah received the blow from Atsu Hartor during a scuffle between the two men at Agona in the Western Region.
The scuffle was precipitated by an argument when Hartor and his brother, Tawiah Doe Hartor, had gone to Bonsah, 27, to advise him to stop subjecting his old mother to frequent beatings.
According to the Kwesimintsim District Police Commander, DSP Y. Akolongo Ayamga, the two brothers happened to witness an incident in which Bonsah had subjected his old mother to severe beatings on Tuesday before they managed to stop him from further punishing his mother.
A day later, the brothers went to Bonsah to advise him to stop his habit of beating his mother but a scuffle ensued between Hartor and Bonsah.
A hefty blow from Hartor to his friend sent him to the ground but he died later after he had been sent to the Dixcove Government Hospital.
The body has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary while the police are looking for the suspects who bolted after the incident.
