Paabinaa Meriga Peace Initiative (PAMEPI), an NGO operating in the Northern Region on Tuesday donated items valued over 8 million cedis to the children's ward of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The items were made up of detergents, mosquito nets and plastic chairs.
Mr. Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu, Executive Director of the NGO who made the presentation, said it was his organisation's widow's mite to assist the hospital.
He said the hospital was a deprived one that lacked several facilities and this did not befit its status as a teaching hospital.
Mr. Abdul-Ganiyu appealed to the government to provide it with equipment and logistics to enhance the work of the staff and appealed to other NGOs to support the hospital.
Dr. Cephas Ayuyane, the Acting Medical Director of the Hospital, thanked the NGO for the donation.Source: GNA
