The chief and people of Senya Beraku have appealed to the government to rehabilitate the road from Awutu-Beraku to Bontrase-Obrachire to facilitate movement of people and farm produce.
Major John Addy (RTD), chairman of the Senya Urban Council, said this at the Akumase festival of the chiefs and people of Senya Beraku.
The festival commemorates good harvest from their farms and good catches from the sea.
Major Addy commended the government for undertaking some development projects in the Senya area and mentioned some of them as construction and rehabilitation of roads and buildings for the AME Zion School and Mother Teresa School for Girls.
He appealed to the government to solve the water problem facing the area since the situation was not encouraging teachers and other government officials to accept postings to the area.
Major Addy appealed to the two factions involved in the "chieftaincy dispute in the town to settle all their differences and give us an Omanhene by next year".
"The protracted chieftaincy dispute we have engaged in since 1975 has not helped anybody," he said and appealed to the National House of chiefs and Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs to solve the problem.
