Striking polytechnic teachers in Takoradi and Sunyani have suspended their strike.
The polytechnic teachers in Kumasi, Sunyani and Takoradi went on strike for almost two weeks to protest problems with their migration onto the new pay policy.
They have ignored calls even by their national leaders to call off the action.
But they announced the suspension this afternoon after meeting their members.
Chairman of Takoradi POTAG, Samuel Mensah told Joy News after thorough discussion they have agreed to suspend the strike for two weeks in order for the FWSC to resolve their grievances failing which they will return to school.
He said they will reschedule the academic calendar to make up for the lost time.
A couple of hours ago, POTAG members in Sunyani also announced they had suspended the strike.
Their Chairman, Lawrence Amponsah, assured they would resume work on Monday.
Meanwhile, POTAG members in Kumasi have yet to take a decision.
The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission is scheduled to meet with executives of POTAG following a directive by the National Labour Commission for resumption of negotiations.
