Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa-Doe has called for what she calls a de-politicization of the ongoing biometric exercise.
Addressing departmental heads in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality to kick start her tour of the municipality, the Regional Minister expressed serious regret over the level of political slant given the national exercise.
The Minister is hoping to use her tour to commission some completed projects and assess their impact on the dwellers.
She directed the departmental heads to work to compliment the Electoral Commission’s efforts to ensure many eligible voters are covered under the registration exercise in a non-partisan way.
She however warned against multiple registration saying the law will not spare any individual who dabbles in multiple registration.
The Central Regional Minister visited a number of communities in the municipality including Yesunkwa, Elmina, Abrobiano and Ayensudo among other communities.
At Elmina, she inspected developmental projects being undertaken by the fishing community with proceeds from the sale of the premix fuel and promised government’s unflinching support for the development of the coastal belt.
