The Volta River Authority has suspended operations of its Cruise ship, The Dodi Princess after it caught fire last night.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and extent of damage cannot immediately be ascertained.
The company is yet to issue an official statement on the disaster.
A staff of the Volta Hotel, Julian Bart Plange told Joy News investigations have begun to find out the cause of fire.
He said the Authority will soon issue an official statement on the matter.
The Dodi Princess has been a major tourist site and a place of relaxation for many revelers.
It is not clear when operations will begin.
