The 10th edition of the Joy FM Beauty and Bridal Fair has officially opened at the International Conference Centre in Accra. The annual programme, which has created a niche for itself as a one-stop shop for event planners and prospective couples planning weddings, has been running since 2003 and brings together the biggest collection of bridal service providers and products. Over 40,000 visitors are expected to attend the fair to shop for everything bridal from about 15,000 product lines from more than a hundred stands. Visitors will not only purchase items but can also expect daily give-aways like laptops, phones, weekend stay at some of Ghana’s best hotels and holiday destination. This year’s winning couple will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to South Africa for a whole week. Opening the event Thursday, Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank Pearl Mensah stated that though weddings are exciting times for a lot of people, it also puts lots of stress on those to plan them. Hence the need to patronise such events which make wedding planning much easy. A medical officer will join speakers at this year’s marriage seminar Saturday to address nagging medical challenges potential and already married couples encounter in their relationships. This year's fair is sponsored by Black Secret’s make-up, Jandel Limited, Dark and Lovely and Minute Maid. Joy FM is also running most of its programmes - Cosmopolitan Mix and Drive Time - live from the Accra International Conference Centre. Favourite DJs Doreen Andoh, Bola Ray and DJ Black among a host of others, will be performing from the fair grounds. The programme ends Sunday 8, July 2012.
