Nigel De Jong has spoken of his happiness to be joining AC Milan ahead of a transfer which is expected to be officially completed on Friday. The move was confirmed by the Manchester City player as he spoke to journalists waiting for him at the airport, also telling them he was looking forward to playing in another great derby encounter. "Milan will be competitive, both in Italy and in Europe. I'm very happy to have joined Milan," De Jong said. "It is a fascinating club with a great history. "After having experienced the Manchester derby, I will now get to experience the Milan derby." De Jong, 27, had less than 12 months remaining on his contract and is expected to cost the Rossoneri somewhere between €3.5 and €5 million. Manchester City bought the Netherlands international from Hamburg for €18 million just three years ago and he played 128 games, scoring one goal, during his time at Eastlands.
