Officials of Berekum Chelsea say the team will approach its final game in the CAF champion’s league with all seriousness though it will do nothing to reverse their exit. The Berekum-based side will face already-qualified TP Mazembe at the Accra Stadium on September 16 and hope to salvage some pride to round up their maiden appearance in the prestigious competition.In an interview with Joy Sports, the International Relations Manager of Berekum Chelsea, Joe Addo said the team will do its best since pride is at stake. “We saw how Zamalek went out. They didn’t have anything to lose yet they played their hearts out. So that’s the same thing we are going to do here,” he said.The local league champions of last two seasons were unable to fulfil the dream of landing in the semi finals after failing to beat Zamalek in Cairo some weeks ago. Berekum Chelsea started off the group campaign in July after recording an impressive 3-2 win over Zamalek at the Accra Stadium.They went ahead to draw 2-2 away with TP Mazembe whom they will play at the Accra Stadium this weekend. Following this result many had grown the hope and high expectations of Berekum Chelsea qualifying to the final of the competition.But the situation changed after the Ghanaian side recorded two straight draws coupled with computations from other results in the Champion’s League with the likes of Al Alhy recording favourable results. “We will trying to do our best and make our fans happy. We had played all those two three teams and we know we were going to qualify and we knew we were capable of adapting but it’s just unfortunate that it didn’t happen,” he said.Joe Addo told Joy Sports that his side will approach the TP Mazembe game with a business-like attitude. “We are also preparing for the league season,” he said.A 4-1 defeat at the hands of Al-Alhy in Egypt is Chelsea’s only loss in the competition and the 2010/2011 Ghana Premier League champions hope to bow out of the competition with a win.
