CAF Champions League campaigners TP Mazembe have arrived in Accra ahead of the final group games of this season’s competition against Ghana side Berekum Chelsea.
Vice President of the club, Francis Kisinge said even though Chelsea are a very good and determined side, his side would give them a run for their money in Accra.
Chelsea managed to hold the Congolese side to a two all drawn game in Lumumbashi in the first leg of the group matches and will be looking forward to getting another favorable result on their adopted grounds.
“Though we have lost the likes of Dioumerci Mbokani, Alain Mbenza Bedi and Dioko Kaliyukuta over the last twelve months, the team has been refreshed with the signings especially from Zambia, Hichani Himmonde, Stopila Sunzu and Rainford Kalaba.
We are not thinking about winning the group to gain any advantages in playing the first leg of the semi-final in Lumumbashi because we have a team that is good enough to beat everybody.
We are confident in our abilities and come Sunday, we will give Chelsea a very good game”
With nothing more than pride at stake for the Ghanaian side, Accra Rep of the team Nana Oduro Sarfo believes that the experience and the exposure that they have derived from participating in this season’s competition would spur the side on in the near future.
“It has been a very good learning curve for us and we hope to do better when we qualify for the competition another time.
The boys are going to play their hearts out at least for pride and for the records.”
