Scotland Yard have confirmed Arsenal defender Andre Santos has been charged with dangerous driving and could face two-years in jail if his case goes to the Crown Court and he is found guilty.The 29-year-old was caught driving recklessly by police just a couple of miles away from the club’s training ground in August.Santos, speeding at around 130 miles per hour, was allegedly driving his Maserati GranTurismo when he was pulled over by officers.
The Brazilian will be handed his punishment at Hendon Magistrates' Court on September 27.A Scotland Yard spokeswoman confirmed: 'Andre Santos, 29, of East Finchley, north London, has been charged with dangerous driving and driving without due care and attention on August 17th this year in Mill Hill, north west London.Santos, who is believed to own several lavish cars, has made 16 appearances for the Gunners since signing from Turkish side Fenerbahce last summer for £5.5million, but has found himself second choice to Kieran Gibbs in the left-back position so far this year.
