The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has suspended oil marketing company, Union Oil Ghana Limited for tax evasion.
Agapet Limited, Excel Oil Company Limited, Misyl Energy Company Limited and Globex Energy Company Limited have also been handed the ban which will last for a period of one month.
The rest are Petro Afrique, Life Petroleum and Unique Company Limited, who have also been suspended for three months.
The NPA said in a statement copied to Joy Business that these companies were involved in activities that led to the loss of tax revenue to the Government of Ghana.
The companies per the suspensions, are to “desist from engaging in the sale, supply, transportation, discharge and receipt of petroleum products for the duration of their suspension,” the statement said.
