Hiplife group, Ruff N Smooth is billed to perform at the 2012 prestigious Planet African Awards on October 27 at the Roy Thomson Hall in Canada.
The annual awards recognizes and awards deserving individuals, organizations, businesses and agencies that make profound differences in society and the lives of people of African heritage.
The Planet Awards are presented in categories which include: Leadership, Professional Excellence, Science and Technology, Community Development, Nelson Mandela Humanitarian Award, Media and Entertainment, African Renaissance, Rising Star, Enterprise, Sports Heritage, Academic Achievement, Marcus Garvey Memorial Award, Volunteer and Lifetime Achievement.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Hitz Entertainment News, the duo made up of Clement Baah-Foh (Ahkan) and Ricky Osei Agyeman (Bullet) disclosed that they are privileged to be the only artiste from Africa to perform at the awards.
Ruff N Smooth believe that they were invited to the event because their music cuts across different continents. Last year, South African musician, Yvonne Chaka Chaka performed at the awards.
They added that being part of the event is the biggest thing to ever happen in their career and they thanked Ghanaians, most especially their fans, for supporting them in their career.
Ruff and Smooth will leave Ghana for Canada on October 20 for rehearsals, as well as granting interviews on Canada National Television and Planet Africa magazine.
The duo also disclosed they will continue to the US to embark on a 25 states tour in November this year before returning to Ghana.
This year’s Planet African Awards will be hosted by actress Vivica A. Fox and musician Kardinal Offisial.
