Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has called up Parma midfielder Afriyie Acquah into the Black Stars to replace the injured Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.
Agyemang Badu has been ruled out of Ghana's reverse fixture of the final round qualifier against Malawi for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Udinese midfielder was part of the initial 21-man squad named by coach Appiah for the game in Lilongwe on October 13 but he suffered a knee injury on Thursday while playing for his Italian club in the Europa League.
Ghana won the first leg 2-0 in Accra. The aggregate winner goes through to next year's Cup of Nations to be hosted by South Africa.
