Ex -Black Stars player Augustine Ahinful says Kwesi Appiah’s side are not convincing and need to do more in the next two months to end the country’s trophy drought.
Kwesi Appiah has achieved his first target as Black Stars coach by qualifying the team to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals after edging out Malawi on a 3-0 aggregate on Saturday.
The Black Stars are looking ahead to next Thursday’s draw in South Africa where they will know their opponents for the tournament which will be played from January 19 to February 10 2013.
“We should change the way we play, I’m surprised we are winning but the boys are not playing the football we want to see”. He told JOY Sports
“Look at the way the Malawians were possessing the ball and I’m asking myself why can’t we play like that, even though we were leading, we could not hold onto the ball. We have qualified alright but we should look at that aspect of the game as well”.
“What the coach should do is to make the team prepare well when it comes to holding of the ball ahead of the tournament”.
